Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 15, 2026

AskTheDate (askthedate.com) is a collection of free date and time tools run by an independent developer. This policy explains, in plain terms, what data is involved when you use the site, why, and what control you have over it. There are no user accounts and nothing you type is submitted to a server or stored on our side.

What we process

We rely on a small number of third-party services, and we set cookies for a couple of basic preferences. Specifically:

  • Google AdSense shows the ads that keep the site free. AdSense may set advertising cookies and read device information to serve and measure ads. In regions where consent is required, these cookies are not set until you allow them.
  • Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics help us understand aggregate usage — which tools are popular, how pages perform, and where errors happen. This is measurement, not individual profiling on our part.
  • Preference cookies remember your chosen timezone, locale, and light or dark theme so the site behaves the way you left it. These are set by us directly and carry no advertising identifiers.

What we do not collect

The tools are designed so that your inputs never leave your browser in a way we can read. When you calculate the days between two dates, add days to a date, or work out a newborn’s hours of life for the jaundice reference tool, those values live in the URL and in your browser. We do not log them against you, we do not build a profile from them, and there is no database of your calculations. We also do not ask for or store names, email addresses, or any account information, because there are no accounts.

Consent for EEA and UK visitors

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we use Google Consent Mode v2. Advertising and analytics storage default to denied until you make a choice, so no advertising or analytics cookies are written before you consent. You can change your mind at any time; clearing your browser’s cookies for this site resets your choice.

Your rights

Under the GDPR (EEA/UK) you have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Under the CCPA (California) you have the right to know what is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or sharing of personal information. Because we hold no accounts and store no calculation data, most requests to us concern cookies set in your own browser, which you can clear yourself at any time. For anything else, email us and we will help.

How to opt out of personalized ads

You can manage or turn off personalized advertising directly through Google’s Ads Settings and through the industry opt-out tools at aboutads.info. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some preference features may then reset each visit.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top. For any privacy question or request, email [email protected]. See also our Terms of Service.
